Dr Miriam Mukorombindo is the director for Hearts Unlimited, an organisation based in Zimbabwe whose mandate is to bring women together and cross-pollinate ideas while growing in all facets emotionally, economically, and socially.
Diana Musara is one of the directors at Yes We Can Business Network, a South African-based organisation that promotes growth for women in all facets. It helps women to network for growth, and membership is drawn across industries with various activities throughout the year.
These two ladies came together to form the international women’s multisector conference, an initiative aimed at networking on a broader scale.
Established in 2024, the first conference held in South Africa was a huge success, ushering a new wave of intentional networking.
Guests included entrepreneur Dr Divine Ndhlukula, whose book Entrepreneurial Success: Insights on Growing Business in a Fluid Economy was where she drew her presentation.
Learning from her life story was motivation for the attendees drawn from Zimbabwe, Zambia, and SA as well as virtual attendees from the US. Some presentations focused on AI use for efficiency, the media personality, agriculture, and value addition.
The dream grew when people converged in Harare, Cresta Lodge, for the second instalment. This conference drew people from the UK, the USA, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
Positive feedback has been seen by changes in the way people are operating their business, planning for their retirement, and networking with each other
This year people converge in SA again with a conference that promises to be bigger and better as its focus is on collaboration and funding related programs. It also includes a wellness aspect, which is topical in today’s world – where the demands of business and entrepreneuership often over ride the health and fashion side of success.
The dream the two visionaries planted seems to be growing at a fast pace with actual feedback showing positive results in business, professional and personal lives, adding new aspects to the best in both worlds affording women in executive positions spaces and platforms to support each other emotionally and to maintain positive energy.
“Being the director of ceremonies at this conference over the past two years has earned me a growth in my speaking business as it opened other global opportunities,” said media personality Sympathy Mangwenya.
Yes We Can Business Women Network (YWC) will host the third Annual Multi-Sector International Conference under the theme “Capital Without Borders: Unlocking Cross-Border Opportunities, Social Impact & Sustainable Wealth for Women.”
Taking place in Johannesburg, South Africa, from 31 July to 2 August 2026, the conference is expected to attract entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, academics, development practitioners, corporate leaders and ecosystem builders from across the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region and beyond.
The event is supported by the Rotary Club of Morningside and Hearts Unlimited, and the three-day event aims to provide practical solutions, strategic connections and investment opportunities for women and youth-led enterprises operating in an increasingly complex global economy.
