Afripraise Mzansi, held on 7 June 2025 at New Life Conference Centre in Bryanston, was more than a gospel concert — it was a vibrant celebration of African identity, faith, and unity. With over 1,000 attendees from diverse backgrounds, the atmosphere was nothing short of electric: joyful, spirited, and filled with hope.
The event featured powerful performances by Joyful Praise, ZimPraise, The Unveiled, Minister Mahendere, Pastor Jabu, and Takesure Zama.
The audience was taken on a soul-stirring journey through praise and worship, blending Zimbabwean and South African gospel styles with excellence and authenticity.
One of the most moving moments came when the crowd passionately joined Minister Mahendere in singing “Tangai Neni”.
Another crowd favorite was The Unveiled, whose performance drew enthusiastic reactions and praise. Despite coming from different nations, the room felt like one — with people clapping, dancing, and worshipping in harmony.
In line with the theme of African culture, attendees were treated to a taste of home with traditional food and, for many, a chance to dress in beautiful cultural attire. While not everyone wore traditional clothing, the Afro-centric feel was present and deeply felt.
Thanks to New Life Church, the stage design and production quality were world-class. From the lighting to the sound, every detail added to the immersive experience of worship and celebration.
The lineup reflected beautiful diversity, with a mix of Zimbabwean artists and South African minister Pastor Jabu gracing the stage. This balance gave the event a cross-cultural richness that was deeply appreciated by the audience.
By the end of the night, many expressed feeling united, hopeful, and spiritually uplifted — a testament to the power of music and shared faith. Some Zimbabweans said “Tonight reminded us of home”, while South African attendees shared how they learned Shona songs and bonded with fellow worshippers.
Afripraise Mzansi was supported by key community pillars and sponsors, including:
n Nyaradzo Financial Services
n Rainbow Tourism Group, who gave away a special accommodation voucher for two in Zimbabwe. The winners could choose between stunning locations in Victoria Falls, Nyanga, or Harare.
n Local churches including Forward in Faith, AFM, and CCC who brought their congregants in numbers and contributed to the spiritual atmosphere of the night.
The success of this concert has sparked incredible excitement for the future. As the night ended, many attendees shouted: “See you in Cape Town!” — referring to the next Afripraise Mzansi event happening on 15 November 2025. It’s safe to say, the countdown has already begun!
We extend heartfelt thanks to New Life Church for their outstanding venue and technology, to AfriLegacy for organizing the event, and to every artist, church, sponsor, and attendee who made this event what it was. Your presence and support transformed this night into something unforgettable.
