DSE News Network and Gumption Entertainment
On the DSE News Network we love our celebrities. And they in turn – love us as well.
This week celebrity news on the DSE Entertainment – is that Baba Harare – born Braveman Chizvino – is set to make (yet another) smashing appearance at Jongwe Corner In Chinhoyi – and fans are in for a dance marathon led by the contemporary jit dancemaster.
As previously reported on these pages – that Braveman – now better known as Baba – gained fame as the lead guitarist for Jah Prayzah and later launched a successful solo career, forming and leading the City Vibration band and releasing his debut album “Chikwama Changu” in 2017.
From the hit song “The Reason Why” to receiving several awards, including recognition at the ZIMA Awards and the National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA) – he is already a household figure – more adept at making headlines in the jiti genre- and to his one million followers.
This is quite a turnaround for the agile one – after having earlier tried his hand at gospel music.
Today he is known for a range of hit numbers, including Rinenge Riri Gango, Zimbabwean Giant, Rita (Remix), Vaccine, Generator, Chikwama Changu, Minamato Yarasta (2017) and many others on the turntable – andf on the dancefloor.
His nominations and awards cabinet rivals any superstar today, including recognition at various awards, including ZIMA Awards and the National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA), showcasing his impact on the Zimbabwean music scene.
For this report – our celebrity Baba Harare is making a turn to Chinhoyi after a successful tour of Bulawayo where he made music with Amaqaqa.
This week its revealed that Baba Harare will be joined on stage by Gemma Griffiths, Saintfloew, Bling 4, Voltz JT, and Vimbai Zimuto on the Prove Them Wrong Series.
Zimuto posted this week that this is a great collaboration, which brings together a crack unit of (in) form musicians on the Zimbabwe music radar – and put them together to rock the magic.
“Show us some love and we will do a video for Chisewo with Baba Harare. This time it’s in Chinhoyi. Live DVD recording.
“First time I went to Chinhoyi I was Grade 6 ku trip. And that was it. So am looking forward to meeting all my fans and just seeing the vibrant city,” said Zimuto
