Breaking News: Senior Citizens, Retired Professionals and Pensioneers – Listen Up!

Throughout the history of mankind, especially in Africa, older persons have always been viewed with unbridled dignity and respect.

Due to their invaluable life experience, their advice and counsel to younger generations, family and community has been held in high esteem.

Twilight years must not be viewed with trepidation, pity, anxiety and regret.

They are not the beginning of the end but an expression of a life that has been lived full of adventure, achievements, discoveries and excitement up to its logical end.

Twilight years are a celebration; an oasis waiting to be tapped to nourish a fledgling generation.

However, without documenting that (twilight) life, the gems of experience are lost in the mist of time.

That is why we senior citizens, retired professionals and pensioners have an opportunity to speak our minds through this historic Zimbabwean newsletter – Twilight: Zimbabwe’s Monthly Senior Citizens and Retired Professionals Newsletter.

Beginning August 2025, every month thereafter, follow the Twilight on WhatsApp – and soon on Facebook, Gmail and TikTok – for issues substantive to welfare of senior citizens.

It is an opportunity for older persons to profile their lifetime achievements; where retired Zimbabwean economists, miners, industrialists, educators, doctors, architects, civil sector directors, bankers, farmers, journalists, artists, lawyers, pastors, bishops, sportspersons, musicians, chiefs, headmen, designers – as long as they were professionals – both at home and Diaspora – share their present and past experiences to develop our beautiful country.

More important follow, alert and exchange advice on matters of laws, regulations and pensions that negatively and positively affect older persons.

And so, if you have something to share – your personal experience, profile, counsel or adventure, say it in a few words – not more than 200 – with a high-quality photograph.
